Italian expats were present in large numbers at the celebration of their national day at the Italian Cultural Center here on Saturday night.
Saleh Abdullatif of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Makkah Region, cut the cake with Consul General Adriano M. Santacesaria di Barale to mark the event.
The consul general in his address referred to long lasting relationship between the two countries and said it had resulted in strong bilateral ties.
Fast Auto Technic Co. Ltd., the sole dealer of Maserati cars in Saudi Arabia, participated in the ceremony. Maserati showcased its newly launched Quarttoporte car, which reflects the superiority of Italy in terms of technology and luxury.
Mamdouh Khayyat, managing director of Fast Auto Technic, said :“Today, Italy excels in the manufacture of sporty cars”
Khayyat presented a commemorative shield with the Kingdom’s logo to the consul general.
The celebration was marked by a memorable performance by an Italian theater band, which won the admiration of the audience.
Especially admired were the patriotic songs rendered by well-known singer Fatima Scialdone who was on a visit to the Kingdom.
