Fast Auto Technic, the exclusive dealer of Maserati cars in Saudi Arabia, launched the brand-new, long-awaited Maserati GranTurismo, in a special event held for this purpose. The car was unveiled by Mr. Umberto Cini, Maserati Manager Middle East and Sheikh Mohammed Al-Sharbatly, President of Fast Auto Technic with the presence of great number of guests and journalists.
On this occasion, Mamdouh Khayyat, the General Manager of Fast Auto Technic, expressed his pleasure for the launching of this distinctive luxury car where luxury cars segment is witnessing rising of demand on such sporty luxury cars.
In his speech after the unveiling of the new car, Khayyat stressed that 2007 was a successful year for Maserati in Saudi Arabia as its sales increased despite the fierce competition. Such success owed to the global reputation of Maserati brand among lovers of luxury cars in Saudi Arabia.
Khayyat added: ” The introduction of this new model, which was launched in Frankfurt last motor show, created a sensation in the auto industry because of the vast experience of Maserati in luxury cars which meet the needs of luxury cars fans. The new model is different from the old one as it has many new features including complete automatic gearbox and enhanced engine.”
On the other side, Umberto Cini, GM of Maserati Middle East, said: ” The GranTurismo is the second model Maserati has introduced in 2007, following the Quattroporte Automatic that premiered earlier in the year is a tangible example of Maserati vitality and sound health.”
” We have 5 new showrooms in the area, and two of them, as I was told, will be in Saudi Arabia, one in Riyadh and one here in Jeddah with Fast Auto Technic. Then there is a new one in Abu Dhabi, one in Bahrain and one in Oman. All of those will be thank to our current partner in each country.” He added.
The muscular Maserati GranTurismo is suitable for everyday use, with excellent handling, a very sporty feel and a thrilling drive. But the Maserati GranTurismo is also a car which pays attention to comfort, materials, details, with a capacity of up to four people and inside space in the unique Maserati style. A high-performance sports car, exciting to drive, it has a V8 4.2 engine with 405 hp at 7,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 460 Nm at 4,750 rpm, of which 75% is already achievable at 2,500 revs. Its maximum speed is 285 kph, and it accelerates from 0-100 in 5.2 seconds.
Weight distribution is 49% on the front, 51% at the rear. The gearbox is automatic with self-adjusting controls which adapt the gear change to the driving style and conditions.
The car is 4,881 mm long with a wheel base of 2,942 mm. The standard wheel rim is 19” or 20” as an optional.
